Moreton area guide

Moreton is a village on the north coast of the Wirral Penninsula and is neighboured by Leasowe and Saughall Massie. It is a popular area to live due to its strong sense of community and the coastal landscapes particularly in Leasowe which is hugely popular with walkers and bird enthusiasts.

Transport links

As both Moreton and Leasowe represent stations on the Wirral line there are fantastic train facilities that provide transport across the peninsula and out to Chester and Liverpool via connecting stations. The local road-network is equally well established and the local bus service is highly efficient.

Education

Due to fantastic location for transport links residents of Moreton and Leasowe can consider West Kirby’s grammar schools, Pensby High and Birkenhead’s colleges when looking at their children’s educational needs. Christ Church Moreton and Lingham Primary are two local primary school options. Unilaterally Leasowe also has a number of primary and secondary schools including Holy Spirit Catholic & C of E Primary, Leasowe Primary, Castleway Primary.

Retail, Culture and Sporting facilities 

Both Moreton and Leasowe lead to the Wirral coastline and as such are massively popular with walkers, as they offer fantastic coastal walks and scenery. Lingham Park is a short walk from the station and is also home to a skate park that is popular with youths. Upton Park, Arrowe Brook and Upton Meadow all provide additional scenic destinations that are well worth a visit. Moreton and Leasowe both contain some popular Pubs such as the Grange, Mockbeggar Hall and the Brambles as well as restaurants, cafes and independent shops. For shopping requirements residents need only travel a short distance on the train to Birkenhead Pyramids shopping centre and Grange Precinct, whilst Heswall town centre is merely a short drive away and home to supermarkets such as Tesco’s, Marks and Spencers and Iceland.
